Insight Manager (Qualitative)

The Insight Manager (Qualitative) manages qualitative and community research projects, owning the process from start to finish and building strong relationships with clients along the way. The role will be responsible for delivering insightful projects and will also start to manage small accounts with the support of senior researchers. This position is based out of our Paris or Ghent offices.

Responsibilities

Project Management  
  •  Owning project for several smaller tactical projects which are taking place simultaneously, with little direction from seniors. Being able to juggle lots of moving parts is an important part of success at this level. 
  • Playing a supporting role on larger strategic projects. 
  • Building cross team relationships that are an example to junior consultants. 
 
Activity Design  
  • Leading on deciding the best approach and ideas for capturing the data needed 
  • Designing most types of qualitative methodologies with  light direction from seniors. 
 
Fieldwork  
  • Confident with moderation  
  • Evaluating the status of recruitment and fieldwork and make decisions facilitating fieldwork progress (e.g. regarding modification of quotas). 
Analysis and Reporting  
  • Analyzing any activity data with enthusiasm and interest. 
  • Leading in designing an analysis plan, which use to brief others. (supporting docs, team members, freelances, etc). 
  • Analyzing beyond what people say at face value, laddering to understand the unspoken emotion, that sit deeper. 
  • Creating reports that are commercially savvy.
  • Designing outputs that are client ready (including conclusions and recommendations) before getting final input from seniors.  
Solution Design 
  • Interpreting a client's information needs and are able to translate them into overall project design and deciding on the right activities and solutions to use. For complex projects, with the support from seniors. 
  • Spotting opportunities to incorporate solutions beyond primary research 
 
Presenting  
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Preparing client workshops / brainstorms and attend in a supportive role. 
 
Account Management  
  • Independently working with clients. 
  • Building good working relationships with clients and have learnt to flex style as needed. 
  • Attentive to client needs, whilst balancing the commercial needs of the business and maintaining good relationships internally. 
  • Getting involved in the presenting of NTMY meetings with clients. 
Commercial Management 
  • Understanding our unique selling arguments of the tools / methods / solutions we offer and how we position vs. competitors. 
  • Involved in the brainstorming for and (co-)writing of proposals for simple projects. 
  • Actively participating in smaller / simple sales pitches. 
  • Proactively looking to support the (Sr) Business Director, to gain experience in reaching out to new clients. 
 
Coaching 
  • Supporting the development of junior consultants through on-the-job coaching. 
  • Sharing experiences and best practice tips (e.g. how they can manage their time / projects). 
  • Following up on experiences and training to drive higher performance. 

Qualifications

  • Strong ability to analyse data, identify patterns, and draw conclusions and make recommendations to client.  
  • Familiarity and Interest in online qual.
  • Experience in FMCG sector
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to connect research insights to broader organizational goals.  
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.  
  • Able to network across the business  
  • Strong Project Management skills, ability to take ownership
  • Able to design any activity or solution, manage both simple and complex projects and analyse data. 

Qualifications and/or Educational Requirements 
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (e.g., social science, psychology, business, or economics).  
  • 3 – 5 years of professional research experience.  
  • Proficient in English, French OR Dutch preferred.
  • Agency experience preferred.
